Hi Liesa Thanks for your help. It's really difficult to get a good picture (mainly because my camera has gone walkabouts:) and I'm using my phone)as the little pests are sooo tiny. I am relieved to hear that they are not an immediate threat to the collections, I didn't recognizes them as being on the usual lists of museum pests either. They were all promptly bagged and removed from the museum.

Both are situated in the museum with easy access to exhibitions. Can anybody help in identifying them, and are they a threat to the museum objects? They seem as if they live in the wooden containers that the tea arrive and are sold in, as seen in the picture. They are approx. 1mm long and brownish/grey in colour.
