Try this:

SELECT
  (SELECT <your_column>
     FROM <your_table>
     ORDER BY <your_column> offset 0 LIMIT 1) ,
  (SELECT <your_column>
     FROM <your_table>
     ORDER BY <your_column> OFFSET (SELECT COUNT(*) ) LIMIT 1)
   FROM <your_table> LIMIT 1;
