Hi Guys,
does anyone here know the proper weight for the Edison reproducer found on
the 1928 models of the C-1 and C-2 radio/phonograph combinations? These
units had a very clever weight adjustment for the only pickup made to play
both Diamond Discs and the later Needle Cut Edisons (or the standard lateral
record). I cannot find in any literature or service manual what is called
for. Obviously there was an adjustment for a reason and there must be an
optimum weight. The later 1929 model C-4 that played only lateral records
did not have any adjustment. Also, I'm unaware of any other magnetic pickup
of the day that had an adjustment for weight on the stylus, although I'm
limited to other high end Victors such as the 9-16 of the same vintage. Any
suggestion appreciated. Thanks
Bruce
