Not only did you post a message regarding this but in December 2009
Gavin posted this bug report
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=2922727&group_id=61828&atid=498546
describing the same behavior for PLA 1.2.0.4. The bug was rejected.
None the less when I follow Gavin's suggestion and change the default
login attr in lib/ds_ldap.php I am indeed able to log in using the mail
attribute. So that is my work around for now. Not ideal, I prefer to
do this via the config file.
