Hi all

I'm posting this to the list to make sure it doesn't get lost.

Some time ago, this bug:

SF Bug #2922727 - PLA ignores login attr

was fixed in the commit
http://phpldapadmin.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=phpldapadmin/phpldapadmin;a=commitdiff;h=ac1d121b0d5b2cb5b84f530ec47a98b43dcbb352;hp=9dbf53acf3faf825927ee8d7dcdac27a082114af
... just after phpldapadmin 1.2.0.5 was released.

1.2.0.5 is the version in Debian Squeeze, so users on that platform will
find that setting 'login','attr' does not work.

if they're not editing the config file with syntax highlighting it might
take them a long time (ahem) to notice that there's a missing */ comment
close between the comment block above the 'login','attr' setting and the
setting its self. I added debug code to the template form php and
noticed that it was still printing the old value of 'dn' ... but took a
while to finally work out that it wasn't being overwritten or ignored,
but was simply commented out.

I was about to add a little warning about this to the wiki page for
http://phpldapadmin.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Server:login:attr but
it seems I need to wait for an account to be approved, so in the mean
time I'm posting here.

I've noticed a couple of other quirks in this otherwise excellent tool,
but I suspect at least some of them will be resolved by updating to the
current version so I won't bother describing them now.

If anyone can edit that wiki page that'd be really handy, to save others
the time and frustration I've just gone through.
