You are correct that it is not good to use Rodinal with Tri-X. But nothing else is any better with Tri-X. I have a box of 5x7 Tri-x negs that when scanned are more grainy than 35mm TMAX. Rodinal does work well with many other films. TMax (1:20) and Tech-pan (1:50) make good fine grain images. Rodinal, as a liquid, is more convenient to mix, but I would never use it with a film like Tri-X (not to say that someone else might like that combination). > > Then again, if you mix a liter of D76 stock, then you can dilute it for use very quickly, so you are really only talking about the time savings of a few minutes per month. > > Cheers - > > george > > ----- > http://www.GLSmyth.com > http://DRiPInvesting.org > > --- On Tue 11/25, gregg b. mc neill < gbmcne...@hotmail.com > wrote: > From: gregg b. mc neill [mailto: gbmcne...@hotmail.com] > To: Pinhole-Discussion@p at ??????? > Date: Tue, 25 Nov 2003 14:53:08 -0500 > Subject: [pinhole-discussion] Powder vs. Liquid > > Does anyone have any preference between powder developer vs. liquid
developer?

As far as convience, It would seem that liquid would be faster.

are there any downsides to liquid?

thanks in advance for your thoughts...

gregg b. mc neill
<br
