Keep in mind that if one wants to go for animation, the time it will take to download the animation will be significant. Note that the first image on this page will comprise about 34k. When you add this to a site that will already include pictures, you are asking someone to wait even longer to download the page. I would also suggest that if one is looking to place such an animation on the site that there would certainly be issues with the owner of the image. Without explicit permission to use the graphic, this would be asking for trouble. I would highly recommend that usability of the site be a primary consideration. Fast download times and clear navigation are essential in creating a successful Web site.
