Perhaps whatever makes these files in /tmp? i think something to do with X/gdm/gnome? /tmp/.X0-lock /tmp/.X1024-lock /tmp/.X1025-lock /tmp/.X11-unix /tmp/.X1-lock /tmp/.XIM-unix /tmp/.font-unix /tmp/.ICE-unix
