Some of those who've used or tried it before may know it as AVP or
Antiviral Toolkit Pro.
It changed its name and trademark to KAV last October/November.
I can vouch that it performs well. Its daily data file updates at times
even correctly recognizes viruses that do not yet exist in other AV
databases. They're almost guaranteed to find rare and even unique
strains long before other AV proggies receive a live sample to analyze.
I mentioned why in another post.
KAV is also much faster at scanning zip files.
There are two download sites in Russia. They are usually in sync. There
are times though when one or the other site may have newer updates. It
never hurts to check both.
ftp.avp.ru
ftp.kaspersky.com
You need the latest avp****.zip cumulative updates, all the up******.zip
weekly updates and the latest daily.zip daily updates.
