hi there precy,
the ph-linux-newbie mailing list was created to:
1. have a 'friendlier' venue for newbie (repetitive) inquiries.
the people there are much more accommodating since they expect
newbie questions from newbies.
2. reduce redundancy and s/n ratio in the plug mailing list.
... so people who consider themselves new to linux should join
the ph-linux-newbie list and maybe just lurk in plug for a while.
also, please avoid cross-posting questions to both mailing lists,
as this ticks off a lot people who are members of both lists.
hth,
-eric
