Title: Re: [plug] linux and raid
haha! thanks. the reason branded ngayon kasi we tried compatibles pero hindi nagtagal! bumagsak din at dahil din mahirap maghanap ng drivers. so they said it would be best to invest on branded.

i was able to get the updates from ibm. yun lang pala kailangan. the red hat version that ibm has tested netfinity 5100 was redhat 6.2. kaya di siya makita sa red hat 7.0

anyway, salamat. that gave me an idea to look for updates. you are right, ibm 5100 or red hat 7.0 that came with the package did not support each other. :) good thing they released an update.

thanks.

If this is hardware RAID is it possible that the kernel that comes with
the RedHat installer does not have support for the controller? When faced
with "exotic" hardware, I normally compile a kernel with everything I need
for that machine (and JUST what I need for that machine for installation),
including whatever filesystem I will use, networking, et al, then create a
custom boot disk set. Messy and time consuming, but if you've got exotic
hardware this will do.

Aside from that I don't know what else to recommend. Last I touched a
Netfinity was Linux'99. (Lucky you, branded server!) Hahaha. :)
