Folks - Announcing a new report from CSTB on Electronic Voting. Below
is the media advisory on it.

Election officials across the United States are increasingly looking
to electronic voting systems as a way to administer elections more
efficiently, but skeptics have raised concerns about the security and
reliability of these systems. ASKING THE RIGHT QUESTIONS ABOUT
ELECTRONIC VOTING, new from the National Academies' National Research
Council, offers a set of questions that policy-makers and the public
should ask to help ensure that the technologies implemented are
secure, reliable, efficient, and easy to use. Advance copies are now
available to reporters. The report, which was chaired by DICK
THORNBURGH, former governor of Pennsylvania, and RICHARD F. CELESTE,
former governor of Ohio, was released on September 13, 2005, and is
available free in PDF form at the web site below.
