At TVA- Sequoyah
1 – Only RP qualified senior technicians

A- Basis- this is how we have setup our respirator program- this qualification
is not available for junior technicians.

B- We do not permit Jr RP technicians issue respirators, it doesn’t matter to
us if an individual is a house or contract technician.

Subject: Powernet: Powernet Question - Respirator Issuer Qualification

TVA External Message. Please use caution when opening.
Perry Nuclear Power Plant would like to benchmark respirator issuer
qualifications:

Who is qualified to issue respirators at your plant?

1 – Only RP qualified senior technicians
2 – RP qualified and RP junior house technicians
3 – Other individuals / task qualifications

For those who allow RP junior technicians or task qualify:
A - what is the basis?
B – Is there a distinction between allowing house JR tech versus contractor JR
techs issue respirators?

Thanks.
