The width of ports is determined based on the number of connections that you make to it.
I'm guessing that you have made a fairly common vergil error: It is not enough for links to "look"
connected to be connected... you actually have to drag the end of the link to the port and see it
'snap'. Other ways (such as moving an actor over a link) don't work...


This is something that has long been on my list of things to improve in the user interface... it
should probably give some feedback about being connected (probably by changing a thin line to a
thick one after being connected).
