It is a little out topic suggestion. But because Termux is not on Google Play, older version only, what about allowing users to use Pulseaudio for sound recording? So The Termux androidmanifest.xml could contain The required permission to access microphone.   Or C language Android API do not allow do access microphone? Try to imagine The comfort of using Audacity for Linux to directly record from The microphone?
