 Lennart, Have you ACKed Takashi's comment on this on the Alsa ML? I didn't
 see a public response, but you may have replied privately:

 While recording via libao's direct pulse support is indeed an Ubuntu
 packaging issue, the fact that current RCs of alsa-plugins does not is IMO
 something that should be fixed (preferably before 1.0.18 final). Takashi
 is waiting for your ACK before commit it it seems as it's not in alsa-
 plugins git. http://git.alsa-project.org/?p=alsa-plugins.git;a=summary
