#666: snd-hda-intel ALC888 crackling/popping sound --------------------+------------------------------------------------------- Reporter: peol | Owner: lennart Type: defect | Status: new Milestone: | Component: daemon Keywords: | --------------------+------------------------------------------------------- Hello there.
For some time (spanning for a few weeks) I've been having problems with my sound crackling and popping in a more random than static way. I've tried PA 0.9.16 - 0.9.18 (which I'm currently at) along with ALSA 1.0.17 - 1.0.21 to no avail. I'm running Ubuntu Karmic Alpha, upgraded from a Jaunty installation a few weeks back (I actually upgraded to see if that would fix my problems). '''uname -r''' {{{ 2.6.31-11-generic }}} '''lspci -vvv''' {{{ 00:0f.1 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP55 High Definition Audio (rev a2) Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Could it be that the driver doesn't clear the buffer on the card entirely, and it fills up with "old" data? If I'm missing anything, please let me know. -- Ticket URL: <http://pulseaudio.org/ticket/666> PulseAudio <http://pulseaudio.org/> The PulseAudio Sound Server _______________________________________________ pulseaudio-tickets mailing list pulseaudio-tickets@mail.0pointer.de https://tango.0pointer.de/mailman/listinfo/pulseaudio-tickets
