#707: No stereo (2 speaker) support for Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Roadie USB audio ------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Reporter: glutinous | Owner: lennart Type: defect | Status: new Milestone: | Component: daemon Keywords: stereo surround channel alsa turtle beach audio advantage roadie | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ When playing surround sound movies (in VLC or Totem), it keeps playing them over the 8/6 channels, rather than 2 channels (since I only have a 2.1 speaker configuration). It worked fine back when I was using Ubuntu 9.04, but stopped working since I upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10.
Switching to ALSA directly (in VLC at least) fixes the problem. So it seems to be something to do with PulseAudio. {{{ $ cat /etc/issue Ubuntu 9.10 \n \l }}} {{{ $ uname -a Linux pepe 2.6.31-14-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 16 14:05:01 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux }}} {{{ $ cat /proc/asound/version Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.20. }}} {{{ $ cat /proc/asound/cards 1 [Audio ]: USB-Audio - USB Audio USB Audio at usb-0000:00:0b.0-2, full speed }}} {{{ $ pulseaudio --version pulseaudio 0.9.19 }}} {{{ $ pacmd Welcome to PulseAudio!
