#807: PulseAudio clocks the CPU up to maximum speed on AMD K8 Turion -------------------------+-------------------------------------------------- Reporter: psihozefir | Owner: lennart Type: defect | Status: new Milestone: | Component: daemon Resolution: | Keywords: CPU frequency, drain battery -------------------------+--------------------------------------------------
Comment(by psihozefir): As I said before, the behaviour is the same when using the default Gentoo setup, which doesn't include the RTP modules. Also, the CPU usage is low, 7% for all system running with kdm + compositing + many effects enabled. After I kill pulseaudio, the CPU usage remains the same, but the CPU clock freqency drops to 800 MHz. (I don't know if pulseaudio is automatically restarted after I kill it, I'll check this when I get home.) What I forgot to mention that I'm using the conservative CPUFreq governor. My CPU steps through 4 CPU Frequencies: 800 MHz, 1.2 GHz, 1.6 GHz and 2 GHz on the fly based on OS needs. -- Ticket URL: <http://pulseaudio.org/ticket/807#comment:3> PulseAudio <http://pulseaudio.org/> The PulseAudio Sound Server _______________________________________________ pulseaudio-tickets mailing list pulseaudio-tickets@mail.0pointer.de https://tango.0pointer.de/mailman/listinfo/pulseaudio-tickets
