Comment:

 This sounds like the Adobe Air runtime is hogging the sound device by not
 following alsa guidelines and using the "default" device (which should be
 configured to PulseAudio. This would hog the hardware and prevent PA from
 being able to open it. The sink should be listed as "suspended" in the
 {{{pacmd ls}}} output.

 If this is the case then it's very much not a PA problem but a problem of
 Adobe Air runtime configuration or coding and there is very little we can
 do about it.

 That said, you've provided very little in the way of details so I'm not
 100% sure of this analysis. For this kind of vague issue, it's generally
 more appropriate to discuss it on mailing lists or IRC rather than submit
 a bug report without any detail.

 Therefore if you want to discuss your problem further, I suggest using
 those mediums initially before either reopening or creating a new, and
 much more detailed, bug report if appropriate.
