I have used this camera for years with the original PWC driver. Now I try it on an other PC with the new PWC driver installed with SuSE 10.1. I have also compiled several of the recent module releases from the saillard site. The /dev/video0 is definitely present, but I get an open error saying 'protocol error'. The modules loaded for pwc are compat_ioctl32 and videodev.
Here is the output from setpwc: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/setpwc-0.9> ./setpwc -p setpwc v0.9, (C) 2003-2005 by [EMAIL PROTECTED] Current device: Philips 740 webcam VIDIOCPWCPROBE returns: Philips 740 webcam - 740 Resolution (x, y): 160, 120 Offset: 0, 0 Framerate: 10 Brightness: 65535 Hue: 65535 Colour: 11840 Contrast: 64512 Whiteness: 65535 Palette: YUV 4:2:0 Planar Compression preference: 3 Automatic gain control: -4547 Error while doing ioctl VIDIOCPWCGAWB: Protocol error Whitebalance mode: indoor Blinking of LED is not supported by the combination of your webcam and the driver.
