hi and thank you for the response. my camera is a logitec quickcam pro 4000
and i was having issues with setpwc. i read somewhere online a tutorial
<http://www.noah.org/wiki/Logitech_QuickCam_Pro_4000_on_Ubuntu> to how to
fix the broken driver. looking back on it, i'm guessing it was fixed and
that link was old...
moreover, i stupidly removed the previous module without backing it up. i'm
not sure how to build this one or some how get back the old module.
any tips for doing so? i would like to learn either way as this is good
knowledge i will probably use down the line.
thanks again for your help,
dave

ideas. here is my system:
Did you try to use the version included in the kernel tree? Does it not
work for your camera? If not, I suggest you work with that version, in
drivers/media/video/pwc
2.6.28-18-generic #59-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jan 28 01:40:19 UTC 2010 x86_64
GNU/Linux
My Orbit works perfectly fine on 2.6.23 and 2.6.28.
