[PyMOL] several copies of the same model

I would like to have several copies of the same model on the screen 
at once.  Each would be offset from the other and surface painted 
differently with conservation, charge etc.

I would then like to rotate them around their own axis at the same 
time so that I can observe the correspondence or not between the 
colored surfaces.

When I try this I can't seem to get a second copy translated away 
from its mate.

Is what I am trying to do possible?
