Wow. I mean even I can send any text message with any sender-number
attached to it by directly dialing the Vodafone SMS gateway using
appropriate software. At least I used to be possible to do this,
haven't tried in some time (the possibilities for mischief are endless
of course).

No need to check, have done that often enough. Cannot imagine any
Siemens phone not being able to do this. Same with Nokia, even my
ancient 3210 could do that, IIRC. It's just a question of the right
software.

High COM ports are not unusual for Bluetooth. But why is that a
problem? Even QPC can handle up to COM32 ;-)
