Qmail-SPP have a great community writing plugins, that are more compatible
between them.

See, for example one of the battle-horses of this list, apply RBL
_only_if_not_authenticated_ , is resolved in one of the plugins of Roberto
Alsina's collection (http://ra-plugins.googlecode.com/)

http://ra-plugins.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/rblchecks.man.txt

" If the user is successfully authenticated, this plugin disables itself
for the session. This is
necessary because most home IP addresses are listed in one RBL or the
other. This behaviour,
may become configurable in the future."

This will help in, for example, using residential/dynamic IP blocklists
without the worry of blocking your own users.

This is just an example, I'm pretty sure a lot of functionality will be
gained with Qmail-SPP, since not every one knows how to write a patch for
qmail, but plugin's are much more easy (and can be as efficient as patches).

Now, the problem is, who will have the time to work in this? :-)

Just my two cents.

I have no particular feature would like to implement .

I'm researching the optimal configuration to make a spam-gateway with
qmail and I would like
to use the toaster as it's base .

I prefer the approach of spp cause is much more modular than write a patch
everytime i need i new a feature and it appears to be not too far from
the modularity of postfix .

Mine would be only a curiosity regarding qmt's support for spp, nothing
more .

Thx for help :)

Have Fun,
Davide
