i would prefer to leave it as is. a rename would break very much code of
all the people who are using this method with the "append" name (as i do).
i'm python-coder too, but i can live with this name. it is ok for a
js-library not to use the same names as in python.

It was a rhethorical question. :) In Python (and other languages) the
first one is the result, that is why I suggested renaming the method
to "extend."
That gets my vote as well. "+1" in some circles (not sure if that
terminology is understood here!)
I don't like "extend" because this is indentical to our "extend" system
which is used to define and extend classes.
Another idea?
