If you are using an IFrame then it is not going to work since at the root
you are using the built in file upload facility of the browser and it's the
browser that has the problem. As soon as the browser starts to initiate a
connection to the server it aborts, never actually reaching the server. When
it aborts you get a "can not load page" error or something like that. So it
sounds like your control will have the same problem . And if you tried to
solve it like I am trying to, that being to use a HTTP window for that
upload and the rest of the app is HTTPS, then you can't communicate between
the windows because the browser won't allow cross site scripting (it thinks
it's cross site because the URL's are different). All attempts to
communicate are simply dropped. All I had was a line of code "
window.opener.location.reload()" and it fails if the opener window is HTTPS
and the pop up window is HTTP. But it works fine if they are both HTTP.
Thanks for the info. If I get some time I'll test it out 'just to make sure'
it fails. I would love it if it worked but I'm not going to hold my breath.
