It's different/impossible because when making asynchronous requests, the
result can't be retrieved immediately. So, as the flusheditor() function of
the scroller class calls "synchronously" the getCellEditorValue() which
makes "synchronously" the validation, the result is always true or false...

Why do you think that?

for the same reason... the difference would be it could then allow
getCellEditorValue only when the last state is reached... or maybe I didn't
catch Derrell's idea ?
