Hi all,
This may sound like a really silly question but I am struggling to get my head
around it.
Let say we have a phylogenetic tree and we generate a partition on the tree,
i.e., split the in two by "cutting" at an internal node. Is the evolutionary
process in the two partition independent? If that is the case it means that
p(T_1,T_2) = p(T_1)*p(T_2) with p = probability and T_1 and T_2 the tree
partitions 1 and 2.

I hope I explained myself and you can give a hand on this.

Best,
Inti Pedroso
