The application must shut down. Have seen that before? It is showing one very important thing! The lack of Error handling in your application and bad programming. A good error handling, save you many hours of work in the darkness and also perhaps income if you are a shareware developer. 1 - Don't think your applications works smoothly, because it does on your own computer. 2 - If a user/downloader the first thing is meeting such message, your application goes to the Trash. 3 - The user/downloader don't care about messages that is not easy to understand. 4 - Write your error handler! 5 - Give the user/downloader the possibility to easy send you a report using e-mail REMEMBER: ERROR HANDLING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN MANY OTHER FEATURES IN YOUR APPLICATION Error handler Example for Download http://seeditmaxi.cachefly.net/rb/downl ... andler.zip ( Perhaps not good programming, but better programming than an Unhandled Exception Message ) With some minor changes, the example could be useful also on Windows and Linux. The example is using chr(13) as linebreak. _________________ ------------------------------------ Top Display posts from previous: All posts1 day7 days2 weeks1 month3 months6 months1 year Sort by AuthorPost timeSubject AscendingDescending Page 1 of 1 [ 1 post ] -- Over 1500 classes with 29000 functions in one REALbasic plug-in collection.
