Posts: 1 Hello! Just having a play around with the RB demo and
since I'm quite interested in audio based apps, thought I'd set myself the
simple (?) excercise to get started, of writing a little audio "play-thru"
util. ie. I just want to read the line-in and stream it to line-out.

But I'm stuck already. And I haven't even started! Where do I start?!? What
classes do I need? Do I need third party libraries to achieve it? Because all I
can find in the documentation is stuff relating to sound files or QT movies.
And before anyone suggests it, may they please try themselves to google
"REALBasic Linein" - it's not helpful (I always Google before posting)

I've found http://monkeybreadsoftware.de/Freeware/ ... urce.shtml which is a
step in the right direction. I've also found plenty of hardcore audio stuff,
but I suspect those libraries are way too overpowered for waht I'm looking for.
I'd be very suprised if this is not achievable with QT and an out-of-the-box RB?

So just to reiterate and clarify: I'm not looking for an idiots guide to
starting RB and creating an app. I can (and have) read the docu for that.
Neither am I looking for an already written utility to do the job. Already have
a perfectly good one

I just need a bit of a jump start please, with my first practical excercise,
and a few appropriate keywords to head me off in the right direction.

Many thanks!
