Do you have a hunch as to whether this is more win than gcc 4.5
related? The latter might be easier to deal with than the former.
I think it is neither. It looks like an R issue.
Since all works when loaded into R, and it fails when under R CMD check.
Something in the R code behind R CMD check must be wrong.
