Diane Thanks for this. This is just what I imagine when I think of applying RDA in some future environment that is no longer constrained by our legacy structures (pace Mac).
Just one suggestion and one question: In Scenario 2, while data from the ONIX record would be used to build, work, expression, and manifestation records, the ONIX record itself would be a manifestation record (like our existing bibliographic records) rather than a work record. In Scenario 3, would the link from the short story be to the manifestation record for the aggregate work--collected stories--or to the work record? Wouldn't the link occur at the level of the most abstract entity that was appropriate, i.e. the work level, since the component works in the collected stories would presumably remain constant through the levels of abstraction?
