Hi, All,

I stumbled onto an LC record that lists the editor of an anthology, Melissa Marr, in the 100 field. She writes the introduction and one story in the anthology. The title of the book is Rags and bones: new twists on timeless tales. LCCN 2012045583. OCLC 821203417.  I recognize the cataloging level is 8. However, I would like to edit the record in my local catalog as follows:

700 1_|aMarr, Melissa,|e editor of compilation.

Is my editing incorrect? Or am I actually reading 6.27.14 and 6.2.2 from RDA Toolkit correctly?  I thought the policy for this LC core relationship is generally to give a MARC 505 contents and at least one 7XX analytical authorized access point.

Another question I have is related to a collective title with four authors contributing distinct and separate stories or novellas. (6.27.1.3 a and b). Hundreds of mass-market romances fall into this category with a popular author listed first (and usually prominently) and "rising stars" in the genre listed also on the title page.  I find a great deal of discrepancy in applying the aforementioned rules throughout WorldCat. Can someone send me a couple of constructed examples of how this rule should be applied? I construct my RDA records following an example I received at a recent workshop on RDA in which there is no 100 field, a 245 00|a[title] /c statement of responsibility with all four authors listed, a 505 contents note, and four 700 analytical entries.
