Jason,

As a developer, I would certainly recommend starting with the 1.1.x
series. :) And indeed, it is approaching stable. Many people are using
it regularly with great success.

I recommend reading as much of the documentation and Wiki as you can.
Both are quite informative and may give you some guidance on how to
implement rdiff-backup in your situation. I also suggest testing with
some small databases to get started.

If you run into any issues, search the archives and then write to the
mailing list.
