Butterscotch Cashew Scotchies

1 18.25 pkg. plain yellow cake mix
1/4 c. packed light brown sugar
8 tbsp (1 stick) butter, melted
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 c. chopped lightly salted cashews
1 c. butterscotch or semisweet chocolate chips

        Preheat oven to dg350.

        In large bowl, mix cake mix, brown sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla
and beat with mixer at low speed for one minute. Scrape down sides of
bowl and continue blending for one minute. Pour batter onto ungreased
13- by 9-inch baking pan. Sprinkle cashew pieces and baking chips over
top.

        Bake 27-29 minutes or until golden brown and tests clean. Remove to
wire rack to cool for 30 minutes.

        Yield 24 bars.
