James, The length of the cavity interconnecting cables is dictated by the frequencies to be duplexed. If you intend to retune and use your duplexer in the 70cm Amateur band, the interconnecting cables will be longer than the original cables, and if you want to use it for GMRS, they will be shorter. Be aware that the correct lengths of the cables will take into account the lengths of the coupling loops that are hidden inside each cavity, so the cables themselves are not going to be an exact fraction of a wavelength.
