Satellite 4.2.2 is the oldest version shown on 
http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/satellite/

There is this line in the 4.2.3 release notes "An issue has been 
addressed within the RHN Satellite Server repodata cache, which is used 
by the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2 yum client for dependency
resolution."

To be sure, I'd contact your support rep and find out which version of 
satellite is needed to support 5.2 clients.

I'm guessing you'll need to upgrade your satellite server.
