Hang on, can you quickly try something for me, don't use the MySQL jar that is in your project (mysql-connector-java-5.0.5-bin.jar). MySQL's JDBC drivers have a tendency to be frequently unstable and incompatible, can you try with this one that's in here http:// rifers.org/download/95/rife-sumo-1.5.1-jdk15.zip ? That's what is used to test RIFE.
