and that's exactly what i've done. the plugin now uses both the ltm and eRm 
package functions, depending on the desired model to fit. it also provides 
individual dialogs for each available model with their corresponding options:

(analysis -> irt ->)
 dichotomous data:
  - rasch model fit
  - two parameter logistic model fit
  - birnbaum three parameter model fit
  - linear logistic test model fit

 polytomous data:
  - graded response model fit
  - rating scale model fit
  - partial credit model fit
  - linear rating scale model fit
  - linear partial credit model fit

this rendered the previous wizard mode useless, so i've removed it completely. 
a help page for each dialog is provided, though. and i've altered the 
library() calls to require(), too. in case you're keen on fitting some 
models:
