It's inconsistent.  I'd say I kind of like the behavior, and I'm not super 
eager to fix it, but it should probably be fixed.  Do it one way or the 
other.  Clicking a track arms record, or it doesn't.  Doesn't is probably the 
right thing to do.  However, I can picture the number of times I'm going to 
record to the wrong track because I forgot it was now necessary to manually 
arm the damn record button, after all these years when it wasn't.
