Hi.

Yes I am running jack 0.99. I run it in realtime mode at 48000 with 3
periods/buffer and 512 frames/period. rosegardensequencer seems to slyly
slip into some kind of realtime mode aswell (it has a - in the nice
value on ps). I have been trying to run rosegardensequencer
--nocrashhandler and rosegarden --nofork --nocrashhandler
--existingsequencer through gdb. I have also tried setting the
environment variable DSSI_PATH=/usr/local/lib/dssi.

I tried to recompile kde with debugging support (with USE=debug emerge
kdelibs on gentoo), but i don't know if it actually worked. I would
dearly like to help submitting bug reports, because I can seem to make
it crash fairly often and I do enjoy this program so much.

The crashes are consistently happening at the SynthPluginManagerDialog
initialisation list:

#6  0x4063c75a in KMainWindow::KMainWindow(QWidget*, char const*,
unsigned) ()
   from /usr/kde/3.3/lib/libkdeui.so.4
#7  0x080b85fe in
SynthPluginManagerDialog::SynthPluginManagerDialog(QWidget*,
RosegardenGUIDoc*, AudioPluginOSCGUIManager*) (this=0x8bf2a78,
    parent=0x87d1ea0, doc=0x89acfe0, guiManager=0x87d8910)
    at audiosynthmanager.cpp:60
#8  0x083733e7 in RosegardenGUIApp::slotManageSynths() (this=0x87d1ea0)
    at rosegardengui.cpp:5383

The kde crash handler seems to sometimes give me a usable backtrace and
sometimes, it will report that the backtrace is unusable. Sometimes, it
will take several minutes to get one of these backtraces. During which
period, my computer gets steadily less responsive and effectively locks.

I would very much appreciate any hints that anyone has on how to
investigate this further. I enclose some of the specs of my system if
its of any use. I don't think I should be waiting that long for that
kind of information though.

Thanks
-bill
