If I move the mouse slowly enough off the right hand side, I can often make it not scroll even when the mouse is clearly outside the canvas. I haven't quite worked out the trick for doing it repeatably though.

In any case, and given that it's timer based, do you agree that it's worth trying to copying the relevant code from QScrollView into our own accessible (and tweakable) methods ?
