Fixed.  Thanks for catching this.  You have to set the first point before the 
shift+click thing works.  That was always my intention, but I never actually 
tested trying to use this incorrectly, and I failed to catch my mistake.

Ideally it might want to go one step further somehow or other and keep track 
of the existence of the event at the origin point.  Currently if you create a 
point, delete it, then shift click, the location of the former point is used 
as the origin.  This really should not be, but there is no really clean way to 
avoid this behavior, and it does not crash.  I have no plans to fix this 
fault.

Interesting.  This reminds me that cut/copy/paste of ruler control events is 
not working at all (and probably won't be fixed in time for release unless 
someone else does it) but at least there is a workaround for deleting a number 
of controllers.  I never thought to try that sequence of steps.  It works.
