The only problem I have with that idea is that if we want to change out the build system again, we need to come up with a plan for how it's going to get maintained in perpetuity. The one good thing about the build system we have now is that both Chris and I understand it well enough to maintain it over time. We ended up ripping out Pedro's very nice setup, because we just couldn't figure out how to do anything with it. We built the new Rosegarden for months and months with a simple makefile, and then eventually created a new build system based around that. We weren't proud of having to resort to that, but we had to solve the problem somehow, and that's what we came up with that finally worked. -- D.
