I'm very happy to push this "paste as links" feature to a future phase of development - I'd like to implement it eventually but like you say it will probably need some deep thought and possibly some non-trivial refactoring of the Clipboard class. So I suggest that what I do now is complete the bug fixes I have to do, finish the "unlink" feature, and do a bit of testing of the feature as it stands (with just the drag-copy method of linking) and we can call that an initial implementation! Give me a day or two and I'll commit what I've got so far and you can have a test of the Ctrl+Alt+drag for the quick link copy feature, see if you like it. If you find you still want the "copy or link?" prompt to appear, we can talk again about how to get it done. I'm happy to implement it if we decide that's what we want. Then if there's time I'll come back to the paste-as-links feature. I must admit I only have a superficial understanding of all the ways in which the Clipboard class is used at the moment, so to progress it I'll have to do a bit of study on that class before daring to do any surgery on it.
