OK, all is clear. Everyone will need to 'make distclean' and rebootstrap their source trees, or else just start with a fresh checkout of trunk/ in order to get the build system stuff purged of all lingering Qt 3 support remnants. After that, Rosegarden should basically be up and running Qt 3 free. I know several widgets are drawn incorrectly, and I just gummed up the entire audio preview mechanism with garbage code to get the branch to compile. Those are the big problems I know about. There could be all manner of small problems, because there were several places in here where we just had to take a best guess at a point when the code wasn't compiling at all. Now is a good time to dig into obscure corners of Rosegarden and see if anything broke. I would be especially suspect of anything dealing with XML processing, file I/O, and translation issues. Later, we'll be wanting to give audio a good shake too, but if the broken audio previews break everything, I won't be surprised. Audio previews need some kind of replacement custom event thing that doesn't look too complicated, but it was more research than I wanted to do at the time. Most of the rest of it should be the kind of fiddly UI diddling I've gotten so much practice at, and I should be able to get that all done shortly. Then we can start looking at merging Yves/Ian's work and then figuring out where we stand for the planned 11.11 release. I don't think it's going to be too bad, and we can probably release on the 1st, or even push it out in October sometime and call it 11.11 anyway. (Although releasing on 11-11-11 WOULD be cool, come to think of it...) -- D.
