Well that would explain why it isn't working then, wouldn't it?

I just wasn't paying much attention, obviously. When I think about it a
little longer, I realize that what you were trying to eliminate were the extra
clefs and keys that have to be there in every segment to get things to come
out right. They're necessary, but they used to be irritating to deal with,
because you'd have to go hide them manually, and then re-hide them every time
you turned around, because you'd accidentally cause them to become visible
again through a variety of different editing operations.

Some way of hiding and/or relocating redundant rests in overlapping segments
would be another idea along these same lines that would be very nice to think
about one of these days. It's probably hideously mind-bending though, just
like the notation editor layout code.

I didn't look either, and am totally prepared to forget all about that until I
happen to encounter it in some project of my own one day. :)

I hope it turns out to be something that just falls gently into place after
your other work. You've done a great deal more on this whole anacrusis
problem than I could ever get my head around to even start thinking about.
This has been my #1 Why Rosegarden Still Sucks issue for several years now, so
this is extremely thrilling to see!

Seeing this all come together is the most enthusiasm I've been able to gather
for this project in over a year, I think.
