I'm on both sides of this sword, and I can reassure you that there really isn't a lot we developers can do to make this whole process less painful for translators. Just go on about your business and don't worry about it. I do sincerely appreciate the thought, but developers can't fix how brain damaged these translation tools are unless they go hack on the tools themselves. They absolutely suck at coping with string changes. Qt's tools and what we had under KDE suck in quite different ways, but they all suck in the end, and translation work is just a big unrewarding pain in the ass. -- D.
