You probably notice a number of references in it to using the Java Sound Synthesizer, which will seem to be something you've not seen or dealt with before. The reason for it, is this documentation, submitted for use by Rosegarden users, was converted from documentation for supporting my new MIDI device (coming soon to an Internet near you), and in that context, it makes a lot of sense.
